Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Privacy is the starting point of how we build Serey. This policy explains, in plain language, the little information we hold, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and the control you have over it.

01

Who we are

Serey Platform LLC ("Serey", "we", "us") runs the Serey publishing platform, websites and apps (the "Services"), and is responsible for how your information is handled.

Serey Platform LLC, 2232 Dell Range Blvd, 303 1177, Cheyenne, WY 82009, United States

Privacy questions: [email protected]

Our principle: we collect only what the Services need. We never sell your information, and we never use it for advertising.

02

Information you give us

  • Account. A username and password. Passwords are stored hashed, so we cannot read them. Email or phone is optional on some account types; anonymous accounts need neither.
  • Self-custody accounts. Your seed phrase is created on your device and never reaches us. We hold no keys or recovery information, so if you lose it, we cannot recover the account.
  • Anonymous accounts. We store no login history for them and do not link them to your named account. Your named account only records whether its one anonymous slot was used.
  • Content you publish. Posts, images, video, audio, comments and links. Drafts stay private until you publish. We remove all hidden metadata from photos, videos and audio, such as location, date and device details, before anything is stored or published.
  • Chat. Chat runs on Delta Chat, which is decentralised and end-to-end encrypted. We do not store your messages. The email servers that deliver them can see who contacts whom and when, but not what is said.
  • Messages to us. Support requests and feedback you send.
  • Payments. We never receive card numbers. See section 10.
03

Information collected automatically

Only what is needed to keep the Services working and secure:

  • Login sessions: the device type and time of your active sessions, so you can review and end them under Login Activity. We do not record their location.
  • Security logs: we never store your IP address in readable form. We turn it into a pseudonymous code that helps us detect abuse without knowing who you are, and delete it after 3 months.
04

Analytics

We use Matomo, on our own servers, to see how the Services are used in aggregate, such as how many people visit a page. No analytics data goes to Google or any other company.

  • No cookies, and nothing stored on your device.
  • Your IP address is shortened before it is stored, so it cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
  • Visits are not linked to your account.
  • Your browser's Do Not Track setting is respected.
  • Raw visit data is deleted after 6 months. Only totals are kept after that.

Because nothing is stored on your device and the data is not linked to you, we do not ask for consent. If you prefer not to be counted at all, use the opt-out control on this page. Your choice is saved in your browser, for this site only.

You are currently counted in our analytics, anonymously.

05

Anonymity

You can use Serey without telling us who you are. Anonymous accounts need no email address, phone number or real name. Self-custody accounts keep your keys on your device. Monero and Zano payments need no name or card. Chat is not stored by us.

Anonymity has limits no platform can remove: your writing style, the times you are active and what you publish can still reveal who you are. If anonymity matters for your safety, leave personal details out of your posts and consider using Tor or a VPN. Our content rules apply to anonymous accounts like any other.

06

Cookies and browser storage

We use no cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. We store only what is strictly necessary on your device:

  • a sign-in token that keeps you signed in;
  • your analytics opt-out, if you choose it;
  • fraud-prevention cookies set by Stripe, on payment pages only.

These need no consent. If you clear them, you will be signed out and card payments may not go through. Privacy payments are not affected.

07

Embedded videos

YouTube videos are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies when the page loads. Once you press play, the video loads from YouTube and YouTube's privacy policy applies.

08

Why we use information

Each use has a legal basis under data protection law:

  • Providing your account and the Services, including publishing and subscriptions: our contract with you.
  • Recording proof of authorship on the Serey blockchain: our legitimate interest in letting creators prove what they published and when. These records are permanent (see section 12).
  • Keeping the Services secure and preventing abuse: our legitimate interest in protecting users and the platform.
  • Privacy-friendly analytics: our legitimate interest in improving the Services.
  • Answering support requests: our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in helping you if you have no account.
  • Newsletters and product updates: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Meeting legal obligations, such as keeping payment records: legal obligation.
09

Messages we send

  • Account emails, such as security alerts and receipts, go only to an email address you gave us. They are needed to run your account and cannot be switched off.
  • Text messages go only to a phone number you gave us: login and verification codes, security alerts, account recovery and notifications. Security and account texts cannot be switched off; notification texts can, in your settings.
  • Newsletters and product updates are sent only if you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • In-app notifications cover creators you subscribe to and activity on your account. You can adjust them in your settings.
  • Emails from creators come from the creator, not from Serey. Use the unsubscribe link in their emails.
10

Payments

Card payments are handled by providers such as Stripe. We never see or store card details. We keep a basic record of each payment (amount, date and accounts involved) to manage subscriptions and meet tax obligations.

When you pay a creator by card, the payment goes to the creator's own Stripe account, so the creator sees the details Stripe shares, such as your email address if you entered one.

Privacy payments. Monero and Zano need no name, email address or card, and keep transaction details private on their networks. We still record which account paid, so we can give you what you paid for.

USDC and USDT are also accepted. Transactions on those networks are public and permanent.

11

Who can see your information

We never sell personal data. Content you publish is visible to the people you publish it for and may be public. Beyond that, we share information only:

  • With creators you subscribe to: what they need to manage your subscription, such as your email address if you gave one. Creators can export their subscriber list and are then responsible for how they use it. Questions about that go to the creator.
  • With platform owners: some sites on Serey are run by independent platform owners. They can see their members' email addresses, subscriber lists, aggregated visitor statistics and payment details (never card details), and are responsible for how they use them, for example to moderate content or contact members. Their own privacy terms may also apply. Serey remains responsible for the technology, accounts, storage and payments.
  • With service providers that help run the Services, such as email delivery, hosting and storage. They may use the information only to provide that service to us.
  • With payment providers such as Stripe, which also use it to meet legal requirements and prevent fraud.
  • When the law requires it, in response to valid legal process, or to protect someone's safety.
12

Permanent publishing

Serey is built so creators' work can last and be verified without depending on any single company. You decide how permanent each post is.

Standard publishing. Your content is stored on S5, a decentralised network backed by Sia. You can delete it at any time, and it is then removed from our storage.

Publish forever. If you choose this, your post is also stored on Arweave, a network designed to keep data for at least 200 years. No one, including you and us, can remove it. We show a clear warning before you choose it. Please take particular care with information about other people.

Proof of authorship. Every post is recorded on the Serey blockchain with a fingerprint of its content (a cryptographic hash), a timestamp and your account name. The record proves what you published and when, but holds no content. If you delete a post, the record stays, including your account name, but it no longer leads to anything and cannot be used to recover the content.

13

Where your information is stored

Serey is based in the United States, so the small amount of information we hold about you is processed there. If you use Serey from the European Union, EU data protection law still applies, with all the rights in section 15.

Your content is not kept on one company's servers. On Sia, each file is first encrypted, then cut into 30 pieces spread across independent storage providers; only 10 are needed to rebuild it when it is opened. Unlike large cloud providers, where one company holds your files and can access them, no storage provider on Sia ever holds a whole file or can see what it stores. Content you publish is still visible to the people you publish it for.

14

How long we keep information

  • Account information (username, hashed password, and email or phone if you added one): while your account exists.
  • Deleted accounts: hidden immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days. Sign in during that time to cancel.
  • Login sessions: removed after 30 days of inactivity.
  • Security logs (pseudonymous IP codes): deleted after 3 months.
  • Raw analytics data: deleted after 6 months.
  • Payment records (amount, date and accounts involved, never card details): kept for 7 years as tax law requires, then deleted.
  • Content published forever and proof-of-authorship records: permanent (see section 12).
15

Your rights

Your information belongs to you. You have the right to:

  • access the information we hold about you;
  • correct it if it is inaccurate;
  • restrict how we use it, for example while we check a correction;
  • delete it (you can delete your account in your settings);
  • export it in a portable format (under Export My Content);
  • object to uses based on our legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.

We never make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

To use these rights, email [email protected]. We reply within one month. For complex requests this can take up to two months longer, and we will tell you if it does. Requests about a platform owner can also be sent to us, and we will pass them on.

What cannot be deleted. Content you published forever on Arweave, a network we do not control, and the proof-of-authorship records on the Serey blockchain, which include your account name. To limit what is permanently linked to you, choose an account name that does not reveal your identity. Basic payment records are also kept after you delete your account, only for the period tax law requires, used for nothing else, and then deleted.

If you are in the European Union and unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

16

Security

We protect your information with encryption and access controls, and above all by holding as little of it as possible. No system is completely secure, but we keep the amount there is to protect to a minimum. If a security incident affects your information and puts you at high risk, we will tell you without undue delay.

17

Children

Serey is not intended for anyone under 13. Where the law sets a higher age, such as 16 in the Netherlands, younger users need permission from a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact [email protected]. We will delete their account and everything we can remove; records that cannot be deleted are explained in section 12.

18

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will tell you on the platform or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
